Veditz Moves from Kickstarter to Generosity by Indiegogo

We have some exciting news to share from Veditz. We’ve received many inquires about pledges being tax deductible. On Kickstarter they are not as you can’t raise money for a non-profit. But here’s the good news. We have decided to move our campaign to Generosity by Indiegogo, and we’ve teamed up with the non-profit Exemplars Foundation to administrate donations. The Exemplars Foundation will manage the funds, provide public transparency and send receipts for your taxes (as with any non-profit donations, we advise you consult your tax advisor regarding tax matters). In June of 2015, we co-founded Exemplars, a peer tutoring platform that in 2015 was named one of the top 10 EdTech companies to watch. Our project is going to help the Deaf around the world, 98% of which are born into hearing households, get increased access to education in sign language, and will support hearing people who are learning one of the world’s major sign languages. It’s an education tool called Veditz.org

But what if you come from a low-income family? Picture an inner city public middle school in one of the USA’s major urban areas. The students are nearly all either Latino or African-American and receive free or reduced lunch because of their families’ poverty status. The Latino students are non-native English speakers, so they have to take English

His passions have included teaching computer science at Latino Prep Academy, he has also served as an adjunct professor of marketing with the university system of Georgia and as a special assistant to the Provost at La Salle University.  It’s a proven fact that tutoring works. But when most people think about tutoring they think about in-person sessions, requiring travel time by the tutor and/or tutee, and at inconvenient hours. An effective, alternative solution, online tutoring is growing fast. It’s easy
